A vision for art at a public scale. This rendering illustrates the potential for a monumental, 35-foot installation of Mission San Jose—a powerful work of cultural and historical significance. For a visionary patron or institution, this is an opportunity to anchor our shared heritage and make a definitive statement.

Beyond portraiture, the studio is dedicated to creating museum-quality fine art that explores the essence of its subjects—from the perfect geometry of an orchid to the soul of a community embodied in its historical architecture.

“Every work of art is a portrait of its subject.”

The Orchid Collection

An Exploration of Natural Perfection

This collection of over 100 master images is a modern continuation of the historic passion known as “Orchidomania.” It is the result of a multi-year exploration, using a proprietary hyperrealistic technique to capture the soul of the world’s most coveted botanical subjects—a pursuit shared by masters from the great botanical illustrators to John Singer Sargent. Released in strictly limited editions by size, each piece is an opportunity for a collector to own a part of this timeless tradition.

The Notable People Collection

A Time Capsule of Resilience

In the midst of 2020—a pivotal moment in history—an invitation was extended to the city’s leaders. This collection is the result: a portrait of the 69 individuals who were brave enough to participate, created not to document the crisis, but to capture their quiet dignity and steady resilience. Today, it serves as a timeless testament to our community’s strength. For a visionary patron or institution, acquiring this complete portfolio is an act of civic stewardship, preserving this unique historical record for the generations to come.

The monumental KGS Studios fine art piece HTTX 97442, displayed in a fine art gallery setting.
A single, monumental image that captures a nation at a crossroads, this work is a testament to artistic foresight and the power of a grand-scale composition.

HTTX-97442

A Monument to a Potential Turning Point

Created in a moment of spontaneous vision in 2012, this piece was born not from the study of art market trends, but from an intuitive recognition of a profound truth about the state of the nation. It required the mastery of grand-scale composition and a medium-format view camera; the moment could never have been captured on a phone.

It captures America at a crossroads. Amidst decaying infrastructure and the quiet hubris of an era, a single working rail line cuts through—a powerful symbol of our nation’s persistent resilience and the potential for a return to greatness.

For years, this complex image existed as a private digital file. It was only when visitors to the studio saw it and recognized its power—drawing their own parallels to the monumental works of contemporary masters like Andreas Gursky—that its significance in the broader art world became clear. Today, in a world grappling with its future, this photograph is more potent than ever. It is a testament to an artist’s foresight and a monument to the critical choice we now face.

For the Serious Collector: Acquiring a Work

Investment & Authenticity

What does a “limited edition” include, and how is authenticity verified?

Every limited edition work is meticulously documented to protect its long-term value and provenance. Each piece is hand-signed, dated, and numbered by the artist. The edition number is also digitally “burned into” the archival source file for permanent reference. To complete the provenance, every work is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity that outlines the print details, edition number, and creation date.

What are the specific edition structures?

Each collection has a unique, consistently maintained edition structure to provide opportunities for different levels of patronage. For example, the Orchid Collection is released in tiered sizes with corresponding edition limits (e.g., Large editions of 15, Medium of 25). As a monumental work, HTTX-97442 is in an extremely rare edition of 2. Specific details for each collection are available on its respective page.

What is the artist’s exhibition history?

Kevin G. Saunders’s work has been exhibited in his gallery and is held in significant public and private collections. Notably, works from his
The World Heritage Missions Collection is on long-term loan and public display at the San Antonio International Airport, and the Notable People of San Antonio Collection was exhibited at the Blue Star Arts Complex.

How is the value of the artwork determined?

The value reflects the work’s scarcity, the artist’s established reputation, and the proprietary hyperrealistic process involved in its creation. Our pricing has been published and consistently maintained since 2014-2016 to ensure a fair and transparent market for all collectors. All prices are subject to change, and increases are anticipated.

The Acquisition Process

What is the process for acquiring a piece from the studio?

We work directly with collectors, providing a bespoke and personal experience. The process begins with a conversation to understand your needs, after which we can share current inventory and develop a custom acquisition plan. As is tradition for fine art commissions, all works are funded up front. We accept all major credit cards.

Can a private viewing of a piece be arranged?

Yes. We encourage studio visits, as the detail, scale, and presence of the work can only be truly appreciated in person. Complimentary private viewings are available seven days a week by appointment.

Do you handle archival framing and worldwide shipping?

Absolutely. We offer a complete, bespoke, turn-key experience. This includes consultation on custom museum-grade frames, 22-karat gold leaf nameplates, and professional lighting. We provide personal “white glove” delivery throughout Texas for our larger works, and can arrange for professional art shippers and custom crating for nationwide and international delivery.
