Beyond the Photograph: A Legacy in Portraiture

In a world of fleeting snapshots, a timeless portrait is a statement of permanence. It is an investment in your story, an heirloom for your family, and a masterpiece that transcends time. It is the definitive answer to the question,
“Who were they?”
The works in this gallery are more than likenesses; they are visual manifestations of character and legacy. Each portrait is crafted not only to be viewed by others but also to be a source of daily inspiration and reflection for the subject themselves—a powerful mirror of their own highest aspirations. These are statements of purpose, designed to resonate for generations, reflecting both who you are and who you are committed to becoming.
The Red Carpet Commission

A Gilded Age Tradition, Reimagined
For the family matriarch, a bride, or a daughter coming of age, the Red Carpet Commission continues the grand tradition of masters like John Singer Sargent. This is our premier offering—a comprehensive, collaborative process to create a definitive, large-scale masterpiece that will serve as your family’s most significant heirloom.
Signature Portraits

The Foundation of Legacy: The Individual & The Couple
The truest portraiture captures the essence of an individual or the unique bond of a couple. Before the family, there is the partnership; before the partnership, there is the individual. These portraits are the foundational statements of your legacy, celebrating the story that started it all.
Family Legacy Portraits

A Generational Masterpiece
While a Signature Portrait captures the individual or couple, a Family Legacy Portrait creates a historical document. This is a comprehensive session dedicated to capturing the unique dynamic of your family at a specific moment in time. The result is a single, museum-quality heirloom that will serve as a cherished anchor of your family’s story for generations to come.

The Journey to a Masterpiece.
Every work of art you see here began not with a camera, but with a strategic conversation. If you are inspired to create a piece of similar weight and significance, the Legacy Design & Consultation is your essential first step.
The Investment
Our “Legacy Starter Collection” for more intimate spaces begins at $2,000 for an 8×10 print. Our large-scale “Statement Pieces,” designed to be the center of gravity for a room, begin at $20,000 for a 40-inch print and scale up from there to $110,000 for a 120-inch portrait print. Frames and custom lights are extra. We will explore the perfect scale for your home during the design consultation.
We believe in complete transparency. Every commission includes the initial Legacy Design & Consultation, the portrait session itself, and the private Projection Session where we finalize your selections. Our Investment and Pricing page is online; read it here. We go over all the print pricing, framing, and lighting prices and options in person at the start to ensure there are no surprises. All commissions are funded up front to begin a project.
We do not. In keeping with the centuries-old tradition of fine art patronage, all commissions are funded in full up front to begin the project. This practice ensures a committed partnership between the patron and the artist from the very beginning. It allows our studio to dedicate its full creative energy and resources to your masterpiece without administrative distractions.
For commissions 24×30″ and larger, a web-sized digital file is included with our compliments for social media or archival purposes. We do not provide files for DIY printing, as we control the quality of every heirloom by handling all printing and finishing in-house.
The Experience
Respectfully, no. The magic of our work lies in the collaborative, in-person experience. All our portraits begin with a dedicated sitting, which allows us to connect with you and capture your essence.
This is the most common concern, and we have built our entire process around solving it. We do not rush. We use a large, traditional view camera, which forces a slower, more deliberate, and conversational pace. We also have the image transferred instantly to a 50″ flat screen monitor so we can see in real time what works and what does not. Our focus is on the connection and dialogue with you, not on the technology. The result is a comfortable, collaborative experience that naturally brings out your true character.
This is a natural concern for every parent, and it’s something our deliberate, unhurried process is specifically designed to address. Our goal is not to force a fleeting, perfect smile, but to capture the authentic dynamic and spirit of your family as a cohesive unit.
We schedule a generous 2.5-hour session for all families, which immediately removes any sense of pressure. This allows ample time for children to acclimate to the studio, take breaks, and be themselves. The most beautiful and honest moments often emerge naturally when a family is allowed to interact in a relaxed environment, and our experience lies in patiently waiting for and capturing those moments.
Our expertise is in creating museum-grade portraits that tell a generational story. The focus is always on the interplay and connection between family members to create a single, powerful masterpiece. In service of this specific artistic goal, we specialize in portraits of the family as a whole, and as such, we do not offer solo portrait sessions for children under the age of six.
Ultimately, a successful family portrait is not just a photograph of well-behaved children; it is a timeless composition that captures the unique bond and character of your family. That is the heirloom we are committed to creating with you.
Yes, comprehensively. This is a key part of our “Legacy Design & Consultation.” We work closely with you on wardrobe selection to ensure the final piece is timeless. For our “Statement Piece” commissions 50 inches and larger, we also include complimentary on-site hair and makeup services from our trusted partners at Jax Studio.
For solo or couple’s portraits, we schedule 90 minutes. For families, we book a 2.5-hour session to ensure a relaxed pace. “Red Carpet” commissions may require more time to accommodate multiple looks and styling changes.
The Final Heirloom
Every piece is created to museum standards to last for centuries. We use archival-grade canvases and papers, and all portraits are protected with a durable archival coating that eliminates the need for glass. This is a permanent heirloom designed to carry your legacy for generations.
Absolutely. We consider the final placement part of the artistic process. We offer a “white glove” installation service to ensure your portrait is hung perfectly and lit correctly, allowing it to command the presence in your home that it deserves.
Every museum-quality canvas portrait is meticulously sealed with a hand-rolled archival coating to ensure its permanence and protection for centuries.
For commissions 24×30 and larger, we are pleased to offer a complimentary hand-brushed embellishment by artist Toni Saunders. Using a clear, archival gel, she painstakingly applies physical brush strokes that follow the contours of the portrait. This process adds a beautiful, tactile dimension to the work, giving it the substantial presence and texture of a hyperrealistic oil painting.
This provides you with two distinct finishing options to further customize your heirloom: the clean, pure surface of a contemporary canvas, or the rich, classic feel of a traditional brushed appearance.
